This was such a great, beautiful day! Like everyone, I started in the park in Chinatown and spent a little time getting acclimated to sketching from life. I found that the old ladies playing cards made good subjects, as they moved very little and had such interesting faces. Then it was time for a sandwich and beers in Washington Square, where the atmosphere was reminiscent of a college quad. It was good to meet all the artists and see the great work. I'll see you all next time!

Hi all,

It was fun to meet some of you yesterday. The turnout was great and the talent was inspiring. Here are some of my sketches - I was playing with Micron pens, Faber-Castell Pitt pens, and pencil.

Erhu player. He wrote down the Chinese characters for "erhu" and explained how the "er" character has two lines, just as the instrument has two strings.
