Greetings crawlers,
I 'm interested in doing the sketch crawl. I haven't done a Sketch Crawl since the 6th or 8th Crawl. I'm pretty busy at the moment, I'll get back to you all soon.

Hi,
I would like to suggest a different place for the coming sketchcrawl.
The weekend of April 11th is also the date of an anime convention in Seattle. If we go to the trade center in seattle downtown, we can catch a lot people in costumes. I think it will be fun.

Hi all! So -- are we thinking about Sakura-con (the anime convention) instead of the International District? I will let Seattle Plein Air know whatever is decided.
Just to clarify -- the anime convention is three days (4/10-12), not just the 11th. I think there is a fee to actually go in, but I'm sure you're right about costumed attendees being in abundance around it! Also, it's at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center at 8th & Pike, not the World Trade Center on the waterfront.
I would still like to meet in the International District sometime, if we don't go there this time. What do you all think? (and to the zoo sometime too, for that matter!) :D

Hmmm.... I like both suggestions. How much is it to get in the anime convention? That would have some interesting people to draw. I really don't mind either way... Maybe we should vote because for the last two months people have been planning on China Town, so some people might be set on that?

So just put in a comment and pick the one you want to go to! I haven't decided which I would rather go to I do like both so I will comment in the next few days!

Here is the link to Sakura-con:
http://www.sakuracon.org/
The convention center calendar says they are expecting 14000 attendees (over 3 days).
The entrance fees listed are: Friday $35, Saturday $40, Sunday $30
I think this would be too steep for me. Maybe some folks will want to do the anime convention venue, and some can still meet at the Oasis Tea Zone instead? I like free/inexpensive crawling!

Yeah that is kinda expensive for me as well! I think International District is a better choice for me. Especially since it sounds like the zoo will be next time and that is gonna cost money too.

but Beth and I aren't the only two so lets keep the votes coming!

Hi,
I'm not actually suggesting attending the event. I think they only have people checking tags at the elevator from 3rd floor to 4th floor (the main area), but the cosplayers are all over the places in the Trade Center (1st, 2nd, 3rd). The Trade Center we can go in freely.

It would be fun to draw the people in all there interesting costumes! The other problem is I know of a few artist that mentioned it to other art organizations that they were apart of and I'm thinking it may be to short of notice now to change things up??

Hey, Josh, I bet you mean me! Please don't let our previous discussions cramp Sketchcrawl's style! I think Sketchcrawl should operate as itself, and crawlers who come online should get to decide where to take it! I love both ideas too. I love the convention center and freeway park just generally for the views anyway! And stil love the other ideas we discussed before as well.
If the convention center is chosen for Sketchcrawl, I will take this to Seattle Plein Air and share that with them! If they want to go to Chinatown anyway, then I'll honor my commitment to meet them there. Maybe I'll come to both places! Maybe we all will!
We're here to have fun, and as a worldwide event, if we have two venues in Seattle it's great!
Does that make sense?

That does make since! and the whole idea of sketchcrawl is to just go out and draw so yes I love that idea!

I didn't just mean you Beth when I mentioned that. There was other that mentioned they would tell their artist organizations, and I have told my Seattle art network.

I think it would be kinda cool to have a two group artist marathon. It would bring a lot of surprising art to the forum come post day!

Sorry Beth if you feel as I singled you out. I had no intent on doing so!

Didn't feel singled out, just didn't want you to worry about me and my other folks, didn't want to be putting any crimps in sketchcrawl! I will keep watching to see where everyone may end up. Ought to be fun!
