Munich/ Germany [results]

Post by KarinH »

Hi everybody,

Tenar and I made it - we met in the San Francisco Coffee Company place at Odeonsplatz, started in there with the usual coffee cups and the view outside (some fabulous buildings around Odeonsplatz), then walked up to the Siegestor - sunny, blue sky, very nice - and freeeezing cold ! So after the one sketch outside we walked on and after buying a brush for Tenar then ended up in another small coffee place- this is where the Amaryllis on our table was today's last sketching target !

In case the following links do not work - I am sure Tenar can fix that later, so I will send my sketches to her....

We will certainly pick some warmer place for the next sketchcrawl.... and we did lots more talking than sketching :-)
Tenar, thanks for letting me use your colour crayons !

P.S.: even the links work - I am really impressed ...

Hi,

So here are my sketches, sorry this took me a while, I first had to get warm again and scan them. Well, I do think I lack Karins knack for detailed drawing but I did my best.

First one: coffee pot in watersoluble wax crayon, building in conte crayons.

Siegestor, done in brown crayon and charcoal pencil

Amarylis, done in watersoluble wax crayons, overdrawn with ink pen (thanks for the idea Karin).

I love these watersoluble crayons for quick sketches. You can use them like crayons or emphasise your pic by dissolving parts of it as I usually do. I think they are easier to use and less messy than watercolours outdoors or in public places but yield more painterly results and allow for faster working than watersoluble pencils.

Karin, thank you for this special day.

So did the people stop and stare while you were drawing?
