Bangkok, THAILAND [RESULTS]

Post by eyes »

I am not sure if anyone had done previous Sketchcrawl in Bangkok, Thailand before. At least I am the one who go solo here this time. I start the day by sketching plein air of my surrounding neighborhood area. I live in the last green area of Bangkok. There are still lots of fruit orchards around my gated village. Later I get in a cab, going through the Bangkok traffic to one of the major pier on the west side of Bangkok, Pepsi pier. This pier is the place where all Pepsi products get distributed by giant ships to the northern part of the country. I wonder if Coke has the similar type pier but so far I heard of none. I sketch some parked Tuk Tuks at the pier entrance, then the pier. Then I hop on the ferry to cross Chraopraya River but my art tote's strap malfunctions and it is no longer practical to travel with both hands hauling the bag instead of carrying it. So I end up sitting at the ferry pier of the otherside of the river to do some more sketching of the river leaping through downtown Bangkok. All in all it takes about 2 hours of sketching. I have a lot of fun and thanks for looking at my results. This is my first SketchCrawl and I hope to join some more in the future.

Ai

PS. Sorry this is my first time here I have trouble making the image to show in the post. I have to link them below for now.

-- welcome to SC, Ai, it's always hard to get the blogspot-pics over here ;) thanks for trying, Marty.

This really reminds of what I felt seeing "Chraopraya River" and surroundings for the first time. Nice capture.

Ai - These are super sketches!!! I love the tuk-tuks. I think NYC could use them!! Wonderful sketch of the city skyline. Too bad your bag broke, but you got a lot done. You have a lot of interesting places there...the ferry across the river looks good too. How come Iris didn't sketch with you? lol Was Tone in charge of her for the day? Good work!!! I could never post my sketches here without my sister, Michelle, helping out. It isn't easy to do!

Hi, Ai! Nice to see you sketchcrawling. I, too, like those Tuk-Tuk's. Would like to ride in one. You did a good job portraying the riverfront. Lots of good sketches. :)
