Berlin Germany [Results]

Of sparrows and Bubbles
Greetings, sketch crawlers! Olga and Verena, I'm sorry I didn't see your post until later on today - I had some prior engagements in the morning and didn't get to checking the forums til later on. I hope you had fun and look forward to hearing about your crawl!
I got together with a couple of other artists and went for a wander through town today. Fortunately we didn't have rain, but yesterday's sunshine would have certainly been welcome.
I started my crawl in front of my house, and decided to kill some time drawing the facade...
Image
Then I continued with a quick sketch on the bus. I was surprised I could draw at all, because the bus usually sways all over the place. This guy was playing with his phone and blowing bubbles with his gum.
Image
From our meeting point in Alexanderplatz, we walked over to the Nikolaiviertel, where I doodled a skull on one of the grave carvings on the church wall. It looked old and spooky, since you expect cherubs and flowers in church scenery.
Image
Continuing on to the canal, we stopped in front of the statue of Saint George and the dragon, and did some drawing of tourists, sparrows, pigeons, and each other. Some people walking past stopped and asked to have a look.
Image
Image
When we started to get cold, we walked up past the old Palast der Republik, or rather, the leftovers of the building, as well as the ruins of the original palace that stood there before the war. We walked past the Cathedral to Hackescher Markt, where we saw people making giant bubbles.

Hello, here is another story from Berlin (I hope next time we all can get together on sketchcrawl).
At first the short warm-up near to the place I live
Image

and Osktreuz S-Bahn
Image

Griffons on Weinmeisterhaus (I never noticed them before)
Image

there was some construction work on Gipsstrasse
Image

ImageI felt completely cold after this one and went to the cafe at the corner of Grosse Hamberger str and Sophienstr
that was me:
Image
a typewriter and some serious guy in the far corner:
Image

I slowly moved towards Hackescher Markt through Grosse Hamburger strasse. There, surrounded by patriotic sounds, I've made two more sketches of an organ-gringer and a monument.

I finished on Hackescher Markt, where I was attacked by big bubbles

Hi Olga! These are absolutely amazing, I also love the little comments to the pictures. Next time we can organise better and do a round together, or even meet up some other time, if you'd like. Did you meet up with the other girl from the Berlin thread?

I did not, Verena got a flu. I have her email so we could organize random sketchcrawl in Berlin or just meet for a coffee. I've sent you my email, stay in touch!
Thank you for the feedback!

Jaz999 - Nice building facade. You did well on the skull and sketches of the people and birds. That face is my favorite!

Olkazavr - Love the tree and bike...nice sense of barness to it. Your street scenes and people are great!! Looks like you had a busy day.

Olga - I think I need to get a pair of those wonderful gloves!!

Olga - shame about Verena, the idea to make it up later on sounds good, and it's the right weather for hot chocolate/coffee. I'll be in touch!

Joan - thanks for your kind words! My friend didn't even know until today that she was the subject of my sketchery! :}

Thorsten - can I order a pair of those gloves too? :} I just hope they're also available for left-handers.

--- jaz999, due to the harsh changes in temperatures these days, they are currently out of sale. Left-handers? No problems ;-)
