I've been doing some crawling and sketching down 24th street over the last month and it's been great. What about a crawl together down 24th starting at Portraro and heading west?

We can also do a sketchcrawl in Yerba Buena Gardens and Embarcadero/Marketplace. I think there's a lot of great scenery and people to sketch.

I won't be at the SF crawl this time around because I'm flying to Austin, TX to crawl there!

In case anyone wants to join in, that thread is here: http://www.sketchcrawl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=3214

Where would you walk to from Potrero? From what I remember, SFGH has a lot of wacky looking buildings, but it gets very industrial the more west you go from there. Maybe this might work better if it started nearer public transportation, near the 24th St. Bart Station. That way, you could hang out at Cafe Venice or someplace else nearby to wait for anyone BARTing it over...Did you have a particular route in mind?

:lol:D'oh, that's right. I was thinking east instead of west.

So, where specifically were you thinking of meeting?

hey all,
I'm Kenny; compared to all of you I'm pretty new to sketching. I'm from the east bay, and I'd love to try to make it out to this and sketch with such motivated people. As a student councilmember, I might have to set up for our class of 2009 Halloween Dance that day, but I'm going to try to get out of it to sketch!

I was thinking right at the corner of portrero and 24th and making our way over to Phillz Coffee on Folsom and 24th then continuing west. Not sure what time people like to get started, any suggestions?

Hi everyone,

Crawlers usually gather between 10:30am - 11:00am, then get started from there.
I won't be able to join you guys due to work, but let me know if I can help out
with anything (map, voting poll, etc). Thanks :D

(hopefully) i'm coming from davis, can't imagine i'd get there before 11; probably should arrange an endpoint / endtime too for the various crawlers to meet and swap sketchbooks (always the best bit!). Pref a place with good beer... any suggestions? 4 is perhaps a good time to stop, esp in late october when getting dark.

Hi SF Crawlers, I will definitely be able to join you guys for this Sketchcrawl (no work on that weekend) :D

Just to give a visual of what part of San Francisco that we have been suggesting,
attached is a jpeg of the 24th and Protrero start point and Phillz Coffee on the way.
So far it has been suggested to head West on 24th.

Please feel free to add more suggestions of places to stop, visit, and end point. Thanks!

Before we get a voting poll under way, here are the 2 suggestions thus far:

1) 24th and Protrero (heading West)

2) Yerba Buena Gardens and Embarcadero/Marketplace (There's also http://www.sfmoma.org and Beard Papa pastries!)

I'll go ahead and throw out a couple more suggestions out there:

3) The California Academy of Sciences (OPENING END OF SEPTEMBER! - http://www.calacademy.org

4) The Legion of Honor - http://www.famsf.org/legion/index.asp

All the sketch sites sound fun! So are we doing the 24 st. sketch or in another location?

Hi Xavier,

Let's give the rest of September/early October for SF Crawlers to continue suggesting sites to visit.
Then we'll get a voting poll ready. Thanks :D
