Post by anthonyf »

my first sketchcrawl, which i have been looking forward to for
some time. the day was cold but sunny. i stayed locally, was
too sick to travel. i didn't get to do as may sketches i would have
liked but had a good time none the less. i'm looking forward
to the next one.

WOW! I love your sketches, especially the one with the green "splashy" tree in the foreground and with some roof tops, what a wonderful image! Thanks for sharing.

really nice, effortless sketches, beautiful, wish i could do mine like that. Second one of the tree is stand-out, but i really like the third one of the house, so clean.

Anthony, For someone who wasn't feeling well, you managed to get a lot of sketches done! Congratulations on your first crawl! I'm from LI too, so it was nice to know someone else from the area was sketching. I went to NJ to sketch with my sister.

thanks for all the coments...i'm inspired. i'm from the farmingdale area of long island and these were all drawn from my backyard. i'm looking forward for the next sketchcrawl where i can move around a bit, maybe to the northshore of the island or by the beaches along the southshore.

Ditto on the second pic. Bravo on the sketching!
A question though, Do you pre-treat the paper before applying your washes? I have trouble using watercolor with my molskine.
