Los Angeles crawlers! Post your sketches here and tell about your experience.
Here's my story:
I arrived at Lake Balboa Park in Anthony C. Beilenson Park (aka Balboa Park) in the city of Van Nuys (greater L.A. area). There was some mention in the forum of Descanso Garden, which I thought was another name for this park, but is apparently another park entirely. Not sure how that confusion arose.
Anyway, I arrived a bit late at around 12:30 and sketched until about 4 o'clock. I never did see any other sketchcrawlers while I was there. Seems like we had a light showing and a couple people left a little on the early side, perhaps. The cherry blossoms were not in full bloom in longer, but there was plenty to sketch in the way of weekenders hanging out at the park, and lots of ducks and geese. Well... Enough blabbing. Here are my results from the day. Most of these were drawn in blue pencil and inked after I got home.
(Oh, and I'm posting small versions, 'cuz there are so many. For larger sizes, visit my flickr photos at http://flickr.com/photos/artandstory or my blog at http://blog.artandstory.com. )
