Oh, this feels so "Hawaii"!! The colors, the surroundings. It's almost as if you are standing there, looking at all that fence art! Thanks for sharing great sketches from this brilliant day!

Sketch Crawl Chinatown Honolulu HI March 29, 2008

My first sketch of the day, just outside across the street from our meeting place, an artist's studio.

Image

My second sketch, this one from another section of Smith Street. In the lower left hand corner, you can see an outline of a SUV.

Image

My third and final sketch of the two hour time period. The SUV that is hinted at in the second drawing is here. Shortly after the lines were drawn, the car left. This one was quick, 20 minutes.

@ mugitea: agree with Paintmonster (Marty) - you really hit Southern Seas-Heart with your colour-palette ;-)

@ Douging: I have been so free to import your pictures so everyone can see them right away ;-) I hope you don't mind. I like how you focus on only green in one, red in another sketch !

A big Mahalo to the sketchers! We had a beautiful Sketchcrawl day. Thanks to Priscilla, Doug and Bea for taking the pictures. Spencer, for treating us to the "ono' dinsum, manapua and refrshments. Everyone made this a special day, a sidewalk party! We made a number of new friends who asked about joining in the next Sketchcrawl.

Photos of sketches and sketchers hanging out on Smith Street
infront of Tadpole Studio. We all ended up sketching/painting the studio building and the halfway house upstairs.
