Wow gary! Pure masterpieces in your sketch book! Wish I was on your level...yeah, in my dreams!
Wonderful and inspiring, to say the least. Must have been amazing to get on board on the square-rigger, so many great details to sketch.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow!!! I must say the SF group did some wonderful work. It must have been a lot of fun to have so many participants.

John - Love your people sketches and super job on the boats!

Enrico - Great job on the wc of the tugboat. Nice group of bikeriders too.

Marc - Impressive sketches! Love the view above the city with the palm.

Seeker - Nice sketching. Great job on both boats, but the tug is my fav.

Bob - Nice work on your seated people. Were they part of the group?

Kate - Great job on the painting of the rocks with the fog. I like the palms too.

Danny - Fun sketches! I like how you focused on that anchor chain. Good job!

BiscuitMaker - Nice water scenes, especially the pier! Good job on the sketches of the people. I really like the one of the artist sketching.

James - Great colllection...so many wonderful sketches. Great job on all the architectural elements.

Splinesmith - Great job on all those people. Love the colored sketch of Ghiradelli Square and the pier.

Nino de Plan Blanco - Good sketches. Nice action on the people.

Jay - Super sketch of the boat, the market, and that wonderful fire escape!

Gary - Great sketches of your day. Love the straphangers and the turtle. Nice work on all the rigging on the ship, and the sketches on the boats.

Liamlightyear - Great fun sketches! Love the artist, the woman shopping, and the guitar player.

Atomic Bear - Nice sketches. I like the first one (a fellow crawler?)!

total awesomeness. It was really nice meeting everyone and seeing the work. I got pretty worn out by the end of the day and some mild sunburn too, it was worth it.

John D - Nice treatment of your subjects! they feel very warm, even with the cool tones on your people.

Enrico - 60!! That's almost as many as we had at the Sausalito crawl last year. Beautiful tones on that ship. I nearly drew that same tree, but decided I couldn't do it justice - you did nicely! Have you been thinking about bikes a lot?

Marc_Taro - I love your organic line - no one will accuse you of stiff inks!

Seeker - I love the bold colors on your ship paintings!

Blob - very nice character studies. I can feel some personality coming through, despite the sedentary poses.

LemoniKate - wow! Love those waves breaking on the shore.

Danny - love the painting of the tower - you captured the sunlight nicely.

Biscuit Maker - I love your stylized ladies, and such a wonderful sense of color!

martha - thank you for posting photos! you really captured the energy of the day.

jamesO3 - your drawings have incredible energy! I particularly like how you built up tone with your markers, and the liveliness of your strokes.

ptk2008 - so prolific! I like your treatment of people, and how well you simplified the landscapes.

splinesmith - nice work! I like your people best, they have so much personality.

nino de pan blanco - I love lucky 13! You really captured some unique subjects.

jay shuster - I remember seeing your book at the end, wonderful work! You have an extremely graphic style and a great sense of perspective, which makes for very strong work.

gary - I also remember seeing this one. Fantastic eye for detail! You make me wish I'd entered the ships.

liamlightyear - wonderful stylization! very strong shapes and tones. I particularly like your take on the airplane.

AtomicBear - very nice sketches! I love the complementary color approach you took.

patsanimation - you have a very strong sense of character in each of your drawings, and very solid rendering skills. Great stuff!

jshu - could be...

Thanks for all the comments !

john D: Yeah, I see what you mean with the " blessures dans les arbres" hehe. My best experience of this was in the pere lachaise's cemetery... I remember some incredible trees growing around tombs and taking weird shapes !

Joan: I guess they were crawler since they were drawing though I didnt saw them at the end...

Okay, here are my contributions; finally got around to scanning them (!). Hopefully these'll show up okay, if not, they're up here: http://idiotink.blogspot.com/

First is Aquatic Park:

and then there's good ol' Alcatraz:

That's all I have this time; my goal for the next SketchCrawl is to really produce! We'll see how that goes...

To everyone -- beautiful work!

Enrico -- As always, I find your work here just breathtakingly alive! Bravo!

marc_taro -- Gorgeous lines. Very immediate and purposeful!

LemoniKate -- You have a wonderful sense of color, I envy you!

Ronnie -- Good grief, do you ever not do amazing work? As ever, your work is a huge inspiration to me (I'm the one who ambushed you at my table at WonderCon and thanked you for your blog -- and I thank you again!).

jamesO3 -- I love your chunky blacks!

ptk2008
-- So fluid and natural! And so prolific!

Jay Shuster -- Incredible. Just incredible.

Gary -- As usual, your life drawings are great.

liamlightyear -- What lively, fun work you're doing here!

Can't wait for the next SketchCrawl, and for a better opportunity to meet you all there.

John D:

What pens/colors did you use for your sketches with the sepia and blue? I see that you both drew and colored with the same sepia/brown color.
By the way, I love your avatar! Self portrait? Brilliant!
