Let's get a crawl going in Seattle :D

I'll be working with one of my good friends, Josh Frost, help coordinate a
Seattle Crawl. Once a location has been decided on, we'll make some
flyers that can be easily printed and passed around/posted. We plan
to post these fliers at the Art Institute and UW. Any other ideas? (Cafe's,
other colleges and schools, etc.)

I'll throw the first suggestion out there: How bout the Seattle Aquarium
or the Seattle Art Museum? With all the rain we've been having, it was
the first indoor facilities that popped in my head. Last time I was there,
I spent a good 3 hours at each SAM and the aquarium. And there's plenty
of places nearby to eat and grab coffee/tea.

But if you're free before Dec. 21st and you want to get a head start
on a mini Sketchcrawl, the SAM has a 2 for 1 exhibit fee for
"Japan Envisions the West" Exhibit. 16th-19th Japanese Art from the
Kobe City Museum. Click here to print coupon.

We're open to more suggestions

C'mon you guys

I see that others have looked at this, but nobody has voted except me. Am I doomed to sketch by myself, again? I promise, even in Seattle, in January, it won't be raining *inside* the SAM.

Haha

Hey Tim,

I just talked to my friend, Josh, and we're gonna whip up a flyer
over the holidays and post them up around the colleges and cafe's.
We need to get the ball roll'in

I'll forward you the flyer and post on this forum for others to print
and forward as well.

Let's shoot for a finalized location on Wed. Jan 9th and then hit the
schools and cafe's (again) the following weekend (Jan.12-13).

You think that's not enough time to promote?

Hey that sounds great. Time-wise, I'd say the sooner the better but any notice will be better than no notice. Besides, less notice = less time to change mind and not go.

Thanks for everyone's patience :D
Here's the flyer I promised to whip up.

I'd love everyone's assistance in spreading
the word in WA. Let's keep each other updated
of which schools, colleges, and cafe's you were
able to post a flyer. That way, we can avoid
making a duplicate trip, out to the same location.

Email me if you need a pdf to print out:

Everyone have a safe & happy New Years!

Just a quick update.

Tim and Josh have been hitting the streets of
Seattle and Ballard over the weekend and posting
up flyers to get more participation for this next
crawl. You guys rock! :)

Please continue to tell a friend and even bring a
friend to the upcoming Seattle crawl :P

Looks like we're meeting at SAM? What time?

Since majority voted for SAM....

10:30-1100am - Meet at lobby of SAM (give 30 min. for
people to roll in. Depending on size of
group, give a brief intro of each other.

1:30- Meet up at a location in SAM and break for lunch.

3:00- Meet back at SAM. Keep on sketching.

5:00pm- Meet back at lobby and share sketchbooks.

Be sure to post results in the forum,
"Seattle, WA-results"

We'd all love to see Seattle's Sketchcrawl sketches :D

Found out about it from the Microsoft artist's group. I do art quilts and costume/fashion design - this will be a great chance to play around with ideas that are in the current SAM show! I can't sketch terribly well (just enough to capture my ideas) but I'm reailly looking forward to this!
