Hi Everyone @ Sketch Crawl L.A.

Thanks for arranging this, Alina! Crystal, her Mom and I would be there... barring any jet-lag on the part of her Mom who is flying in the day before that! I am not sure if she would be sketching but I guess it would be fun to see the TRAINS! See you all there!

I can't think of any food places off the top of my head that are nearby that we could walk to. it will probably be best to bring a lunch.

also, from travel town to the observatory, is a very long walk. maybe after travel town and lunch we could caravan to the greek theater to walk to the observatory?

...maybe i'll bring along a map so we don't get lost...

here's to give people a better idea of how big this park is:

travel town is pretty much right where the equestrian center is, except it's more south on the other side of the freeway.

I am going to put this on my calender for the weekend! I live in Riverside but think I can make the 10:30 meeting time. How much $$ do I need for parking or other fees? do I need to make any reservations anyplace like the Observatory? I'm excited!!!

JoJo,

Thanks for providing the park info. and map!! :)

mARTa,

Parking and Travel Town is free. Observatory itself is free ... if we drive up to Greek Theater and park there, which I believe is free parking, and then hike up for 5 mins ... it's free to visit the Observatory I believe. If you want to visit the LA Zoo and Museum, those you do need to pay ... can't remember how much, somewhere between 10 - 15 bucks I think ....

But don't need to worry about parking, you can park anywhere in the park for free, and parking is everywhere.

I have an appointment with my tax guy in Burbank at 9:30, so I may be a little late. Would anyone be willing to e-mail me their cell phone number so I can link up? sankam@cox.net

Sorry I couldn't make it out to Griffith Park afterall, but I'm sketchcrawling in my neighborhood today. Will post results later. I don't think I'll be in L.A. for sketchcrawl 14 either, but hopefully I will get to meet some of you sometime, if not at sketchcrawl 15!
