The zoo's a great idea.
two thoughts:
1)which Muni stop do we start at?
2) anyone else seen when they feed the tiger a live bunny? the kids go crazy!

I'd love to go to the zoo for the Sketchcrawl. If we don't stop at cafe's on the way there, we could on the way back (that is if theres a central meeting place). This will be my 1st sketchcrawl. Lookin' forward to it!

Hope everyone is staying healthy and getting ready for SC#12 :D

Just a couple questions:

1) Is it certain that the San Francisco Zoo
will be the destination of our next crawl?

2) Will there be some sort of flier designed
to advertise our next San Francisco crawl?

Thanks.

It'd be great to have a flier to leave at artshops and such ...
I am totally swamped with work ... might not be able to get to it till next week ...
Gerald and anyone else who might want to help ... would you mind getting all the pertinet information regarding the Zoo and how to get there with Muni? I am sure we can find all that on the net ...

We could also meet at the zoo entrance ...

ok thanks man !

I'm down!

The L-line will take you all the way down Taraval, and drop you off right in front of the zoo.

I can help out with some fliers etc. if you need anything drawn up.

Zoo, and nearby diner

The Zoo is a great choice - a few weeks ago I took a class at the Zoo on "Drawing Rhinos and Hippos" (my effort: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tedweinstein/277602501/), and there is plenty more to see and sketch there. The main plaza entrance has plenty of room for everyone to meet, or across Sloat Blvd is John's Ocean Beach Cafe: http://www.yelp.com/biz/xchG5mNaou7JYzt3l3uHSA. The Zoo folks might even be willing to give us a group entrance discount, or let us use some of their art and classroom facilities, if we wanted to get that serious about organizing things.

Wish I could help too, but I'm super swamped at work too :(

Kazz - if you have the time to whip up a flier that would be great.

twsf - thanks for the links, much appreciated.

If there's anything I can do to help out in the organizational stuff, drop me an email... I'm not in the city, but if there's anything I can do, I'm more than happy to help.

Looking forward to it!

I think meeting in front of the zoo would be good ...
Maybe we should try and call in, see if they have any group discounts ...
Emma do you have time to call the zoo and explain what we're doing ? See if we can get some special discount or something ...
let me know ... if not I'll call them ...

in the meanwhile I'll try and make a small flier ...
stay tuned ...

Hey Enrico, I teach life drawing at Electronic Arts, Redwood City, as well as some other sketching related classes down here. I'm coming this time. I'm promoting this SketchCrawl at EA and my other classes, so you may get a big turnout. Hope it doesn't rain!

Hey e,

Great flier... love the pencil! Wish I could take the muni all the way to the zoo, but I'll settle for seeing SF's sketches after Dec. 9!

Hi guys- sounds like things are coming along! Just to clear things up, we should probably meet in front of the main entrance of the zoo...just don't want people to be out on the street sidewalk waiting to meet up...
Here's a link to some maps of the zoo. One is on the page already, and the other (the "more comprehensive" map) you have to click on the link to. It lists muni options and labels the main entrance and other things. Hope this helps!

(edit--sorry I posted two of these at first...hope I fixed it! :) )
