Hello all! I had a great time at the Sketchcrawl through Sausalito on Saturday and I met a lot of great and talented people.

Splinesmith - I like your marker comps with the boats and your dogs are funny!
Lunacy - Your drawings are extremely loose and so full of life!
Erik - I like your smearing techniqie with the pen and I especially like the bike.
Frosti - I'm loving the watercolor on the birds!
Emma - These are fantastic. Your sketchbook and talent is inspiring (read intimidating).
Enrico - Nice photos! I saw you take the one with the purple flower, that came out really nice!
Debbie - Hi! I met you at Comic Con in 2005, sorry I didnt see you at the sketchcrawl. I love the way that you scribbled in the bushes on the hills with the houses nested in there and the fog monster.

Here are my sketches from the day, enjoy!

Great Show SF Sketchcrawlers!

Post by 2danimator »

It was great seeing all the participation. We are the happiest people on earth. It was like the "invasion of the sketchcrawlers" taking over Sausalito.

Thanks to all for making it such an enjoyable day.

Wow, 83 people sketching--how awesome!

Erik76, I absolutely love your sketches and the way that gel pen and your waterbrush worked together. I would like to try one--can you tell me what brand it is?

Everyone else--I am just awed by your talents. Most of these look like "drawings" instead of sketches. Really nice work people!

Holy cow, this crawl was freaking gigantic. This is totally the best part though, seeing the astounding stuff other people pulled out of their surroundings. Here are some of my meager spoils of the day:

Some of the fine stores on Bridgway.
Image

Here's the obligatory sketch o' sketcrawlers (Paul & Ali).
That, and a parked car behind some trees.
Image

Some bike seats and the Gazebo.
Image

The rock-piling guy in repose next to a display of his wickid rock-piling skills.
Below that, a boat and some folks eating by the sea.
Image

Oh yeah, and I took a photo too:

Hooray for art blogs!

It was good to see everyone again :D The biggest Bay Area crawl ever!
I didn't think I'd hand out that many maps, but I was definitely able
to give out a good handful. Hope everyone had fun in the sun and
a good time exploring Sausalito.
