Drawings from New York

Post by Cynthea »

We had a late start yesterday, but it was pleasant and fun and the weather was perfect.
People came and went throughout the day, but nelson and I were there start to finish!

We spent the afternoon in Bryant Park, which is the park behind the New York Research Library. Later in the evening we went to Lincoln Center to watch people at Midsummer Night Swing. It's an outdoor event with live music and huge crowds of dancing people.

We ended up relaxing at Starbucks and that was it!
here are a few of mine...there are more on my blog.

Hello Cynthea
Thank you. The weather was great in Paris and we enjoyed the days work. I like the watercolours. The touch of colour makes an enormous difference. The sketchcrawl is a great idea.

WOW great work!! It was a beautiful day in the northeast Saturday. Bryant Park is teriffic, recognized it right away used to walk past it everyday when I was job hunting in NYC years ago! Also really like the one tiny sketch of the mom holding her little child, what a beautiful feeling that has.

Nels...the Urn of flowers and large leafy plants (elephant ears??) is just sooo good! Also love the birds in the birdbath, you had to be quick to get that down.
Joy in the journey.

Cynthea,
Love the watercolor of Bryant Park..nice sense of depth and great leafy colors. I like your sketches of the people at the tables, too. Very lifelike.

Nels,
Great people drawings. Love the way you capture their movement. Nice colors! The trees in the park are wonderful.

Thanks for sharing your SketchCrawl!

Cynthea, I still love your Bryant watercolor enough to comment here too :) Great people sketches

Nels, your watercolors are AMAZING! I don't think I've ever seen your paintings. That's the moleskine watercolor book? I need to pick one of those up.

Hope everyone else had a great crawl in NYC. I'll post my meager upstate NY sketches soon.
