 umm.. Okay.. I checked back to the other discussion... APRIL 22nd
for those living under a rock like I am.

I think I'll be in town then. The Hirshorn sounds like a good place to start.

hello neu & kitty, and other DC folks considering joining us,

yeah this is my 1st official crawl too. hey do you guys have ideas where else to wander after the hishhorn sculpture garden? if the weather's nice theres the sculpture garden across the mall where they put the ice skating rink in winter. or we could find some outside cafe....but since i picked the first spot i'd love for somebody else to choose the next.

Ahem.. I am not a lurker :) -just haven't had any sketches to post yet.

Your suggestions are good - I think any place we can people watch is fine. The steps of the Nat. Hist. museum are usually good for people watching. A cafe is fine too. I'm very flexible and don't mind doing spur of the moment things either.

lurker signing out 8)

All those places are great. Though we could possibly move out of the mall area and further into the city for a more diverse fare of people. How long does the sketchcrawl last?

I think you sketch till you drop, no? 8)

My thought on locations is this: unless we have a huge group of people we don't really need to plan this out too much, do we? I'd rather things be more spontaneous -but- if a bus load of crawlers show up how about going towards Dupont Circ.?

i like both ideas, being spontaneous and moving toward dupont circle.

can you guys think of any good fountains with figurative sculptures in town?

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but there is maybe a statue park at... Washington Square? Or whatever that park was at the Farragut North metro station. I'm probably wrong. Plus I don't think it's on the way to Dupont.

Either way, I'm all for just winging it, as long as we travel in some direction and have some sort of epic sketch journey through the city. You know, like Lord of the Rings but with drawing instead of fighting. And possibly other minor differences, I don't know. Whatever, this sounds like it's going to be really fun.
