great sketches everyone!

Here's a few from my day. The color was added after the fact, as somehow, I never have the presence of mind to pull out the paintbox while sketching. Maybe next time?

So - sketches, in somewhat chronological order.

Image
(above: during the walk from Filmore over to the Palace of Fine Arts... man that grandpa was totally leaning to the sides on that raskle!)

Image
(above: I think a lot of people sketched the bride and groom at the palace of fine arts, but I just thought they were cutest when she was tip-towing throught he grass for the next "perfect" picture and the groom was like "are we done yet?")

Image
(above: I think the kid was trying to agressivly offer the pigeons snapple)

Image
(above: on the way from the palace back to Japan Town, we went striaght up Lyon street. the palace of fine arts is there on the left.)

Image
(above: our group stopped to sketch an old gothic church, but I wasn't into it... however there was a wedding going on and this really cool car out front)

Image
(above: random house on the way to the palace)

(above, top of lyon st, was the sketch I drew)

(above: the sketchcrawl sticker I got at the beginning of the day went right on to my sketchbook.)

Thanks for sharing your drawings as well as your photographs. I'm gonna make it down there for a sketchcrawl one of these days.

Hey everyone as always I keep having a great time at sketchcrawl, thanks to Enrico, Ronnie and everyone that shows up to make it such great time. I always love checking out everyones sketchbooks at the end of the day and seeing it again when it's posted here. To My fellow Lyon Street step hikers I'm ready to take those steps on again.

Till the next time,
Ali

Here is my work, I threw the water color on later that night:

Awesome sketches:

Karen - nice architectural sketches.

bustedpuppet - nice sketch for the short time you were here.

frosti - I like that 3rd sketch with the single wash of color.

budamonsta - nice work, I'm glad you added color later, turned out great.

Danny - you really captured the bride and groom in your sketch.

Thanks Danny for posting photos as well. I can't believe
how crowded Japan town was that weekend?!

I'm kind of mad. I had to miss this sketchcrawl because I was really sick that day. That makes two sketchcrawls missed. Wish I could have made it. It looks like you guys had a great time.

John Juan - I totally understand...I missed out on SC# 7 & 8.
I too was bummed missing 2 in a row. I'm sure SC#10 will
be here before you know it and you'll be healthy and ready to
go!

It was a fun day and great meeting everyone. These are a bit late in being posted because I got tied up with work. I greatly enjoyed seeing everyone's work here.

Oh man, I'm way tardy on posting in here. Great stuff all around everyone!

Ali - Somehow I missed seeing your stuff at J-town, I'm digging that scooter.

Frosti - I'm down for that hike again if you are :D

Anyway, here are a couple of my scans:
