Hello.
Out here in Tucson, Arizona I've been attending a life drawing session every few weeks. You get to pay $7 for a three-hour session with a model either nude or clothed. These are a few of my drawings from the latest sessions.

A 10-minute session of gesture drawing to loosen you up.

A 20-minute session. I focused mostly on portraits during this session to practice facial features. I did this one in water soluble graphite on craft paper.

Conté drawing on sand paper. This is my first time experimenting using white conté for highlights. I usually just let the paper be the highlight, but this paper was rather dark in tone.

I forced myself to use a media I couldn't erase—in this case, an ink pen.

White charcoal on black paper. Never used this before but I will definitely try again in the future. I'd love to do a darker skin-toned model in this way with much more obvious lighting.

I just really like the way this gesture turned out.
