Excellent Ted ...
We are planning to meet somewhere around Union Square on sunday morning, I'll go scout the area this weekend, see if I can find a good cafe to set as our crawling start point...

Let's meet at 10am at the starbuck on the corner of Stockton and Sutter, one block from Union Square and right in front of the Stockton parking garage and the tunnel.
Sorry for not finding a less corporate cafe' ... but hey a grande latte once a year won't kill us ...
And the previous nigh, if you can make it, come say hi at our small artshow opening at the Super7 store in Japantown!

it's really up to us and the single artist ...
but what I was thinking of trying this time is to roam and spread out in a certain neighborhood for a while then give a meeting place and time and go to an other one ... we can probably do that 2 or 3 times and then give a final meeting place for the evening ... this way we'll cover similar sites and we'll see how differently we perceive them and draw them ...

but in general I am very open to suggestions ...

PS
I will also give out my cell phone, so that if anyone wants to try and join in a little later, one will be able to track the group down ...

Helloi!

I'm new to all of this but I've been 'living' to do art and I'd love to play - I'll be there Sunday at 10am!

EEEeeeeee!!! I had originally planned my son's birthday party for March 6th, but it turns out that the 5th worked better. That means I'm free to sketch on Sunday. Will contemplate methods of getting to Union Square that don't require a car.

wow, what an awesome turn out !!!
I think we were around 30 artists out there today ... what a great day! Many thanks to everyone for making this the "largest sketchcrawl ever recorded" :D
and a ton of fun too !
I find SketchCrawls are just as enjoyable as they are tiring ...
in fact I am totally wiped out ... gonna sleep like a rock ...

But anyway ... we saw many a great sketch and I can't wait to see them up on the forum for the whole world to see ... please post away ...
and if you don't have a way of posting your images, feel free to send me files of your drawings and I will host them and post them for you ...

I would also love to have an headcount for the day ... to all of you who participated would you mind emaling me, specifying your name and website if you have one ? Thanks !!

E

PS
sorry ... no energy to scan any drawing ...
tomorrow !!!

Great Sketchcrawl day in sunny San Francisco.

Post by Gerald »

It was definitely a fantastic turn out. The weather was just right - but that sun across the "Cafe Niebaum Coppola" was killing our eyes during our latte and espresso break. I managed to get lost and seperated from the group but took Enrico's advise to wander up Columbus and ended up sketching the St. Francis of Assisi Church. Met some great people who were unbelievable artist. This was the best sketch group I've ever attended. Hope to do more in the near future.

Damn Enrico those are badass! Wish I was there to see you do them.
This was definitely a great turn out, thanks again for organizing this!
It was nice meeting you Kemp, Wes, Chris, Shawn, Yasumin, Joe, MainLoop, Kevin.. and there's a few other faces but can't name them.. You guys are awesome artists and very great people, I hope we'll have an opportunity to work together in the future.

I apologize for the crappy scans, my sketch pad wasn't the most expensive one.. very very thin paper :p
I will directly link to the images but tell me if they are too heavy to load.

Enjoy!
