Re: LONDON, UK

OK, 10 AM sounds good.

Let's make it a specific place. There is a WHSmiths at Victoria. How about if we meet at the benches in front of WHSmiths?

Re: LONDON, UK

It looks like rain this weekend.

The circle line will be in operation. How about if we met at Victoria and took the circle line? There are plenty of good stops for sketching, and this way we could avoid the rain.

Re: LONDON, UK

Thanks for starting a London thread. I can definitely join in. A few of us in London have already been sketchcrawling here a few times. The last time we'd planned an alternate route from St. James's through Hyde Park. This gives a pretty good cross section of interesting nature, people, and archetec...

Re: London, UK [RESULTS]

Thanks, Kumi. Those landscapes are done using gouache (opaque watercolour) and very tiny. Each is only about an inch high.

Re: London, UK [RESULTS]

Ze, here is a tutorial on adding images to the forum: http://www.sketchcrawl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=2224 You will have to use an image hosting service, such as Flickr, to host your images. You can not upload them directly to the sketchcrawl forum. Blogspot will let you link to images whi...

London, UK [RESULTS]

OK. A little late with the results as usual, but here you go. Thanks to all for showing up. Good luck with the new job, Lord M. Thank you, zeotavio, for bringing your "work" sketchbook. It is fascinating to see the creative process of a pro illustrator. We started at the Churchill Museum, ...

Re: London

Let's plan to meet at the Churchill Museum in any case, so as not to be split up. We can go to a more sheltered location if we need to later on.

For those who do not know the area, the museum is just a tiny door next to some steps. It's called the Cabinet War Rooms.

Re: London

OK, 10:00 AM at the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms Museum on Horse Guards Road.

For a rain alternative, I suggest station hopping using the tube. We could start at Victoria - the benches just outside W H Smith. That's ONLY in case of heavy rain. Otherwise, see you all at the museum.

Re: London

Count me in.

Parks are good idea. St James' or Hide park are large areas. If it were St James, I would choose the Eastern side near the parade grounds. The best sketching areas in Hyde Park would probably be from Hyde Park Corner to the Eastern end of the Serpentine.

What a great turnout! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the flood of sketches.

Meerkats, mandrils and munchkins. They are all awesome, Kei! Really inspiring.

Re: LONDON - RESULTS

There must be something magic about pigeon crap, because those are some great sketches, Thek. I love the character that you managed to get out of your subject's faces, particularly those bench-sitters. To me it looks like you had a great day, Paper Sails. I am going to remember what you said about b...

Re: Sketch in London!!

Thank you on the thorough planning, Paper Sails. Let's make sure to decide on an exact place to meet at Borough Market. It's going to be crowded at 10am, so let's plan on a very specific location. Say, the intersection of Bedale and Borough High Street. Rough Quinn, make sure that you start at Borou...
