Re: Detroit, MI USA [Results]

Here is somebody to be inspired by: Detroit artist Sam Karres, who recently donated his sketchbooks to the University of MIchigan library. "With a sketchbook always in hand, he captured Greektown before the casino, at a time when it was truly a Greek neighborhood." http://www.lib.umich.edu...

Re: Milano, Italy [RESULTS]

Beautiful! I love those dramatic blacks. Did you paint them with ink? If so, how do you manage carrying it and using it?

I have been on 6 sketchcrawls now, and most have been piccolo, maybe 2 or 3 people. Good for you for sketching even without a group.

Re: (Results) Greenwich, Connecticut, USA

I love it that they autographed your sketches. The interaction with them that sketching opened up must have been as much fun as the music and the sketching!

Re: Detroit, MI USA [Results]

Beautiful work, and your drawing even managed to evoke the raininess of the day! Your story reminds me of the Atlanta sketchcrawl last February. A friend and I were excited about going, but when I went to pick her up at her house, we didn't get any farther than that. The crawl was canceled because o...

Re: Atlanta, GA - 37th WW SketchCrawl!

There was a good reason why people didn't show up: there was a 5K run taking place on Emory's campus this morning and traffic was blocked. I asked a policeman where to park. Erling came by bike. To anyone else who couldn't get there, I hope you'll post whatever you did end up sketching. Erling, your...

Re: Atlanta, GA - 37th WW SketchCrawl!

Looking forward to sketching with you! The Peavine Lot isn't a particularly picturesque place to wait, so I plan to park there at 9:30 and walk up Dickey Drive, take a right between (according to the map) Emerson Hall and the Candler School of Theology, walk up the hill, and be sketching in courtyar...

Re: Atlanta, GA - 37th WW SketchCrawl!

The crawl date is getting closer, and Teri's post has had 17 views but no replies. I'm going to suggest an alternate idea, since Teri won't be able to make it on October 13. How about Emory University? The buildings are very sketchable. We could meet at the Peavine lot. According to Emory's parking ...

Re: Salem, Massachusetts

Salem looks like a great place for sketching, and you got a good set of drawings out of it (and an impressive range of types of subjects!) I had to look up the Yin Yu Tang house to satisfy my curiosity about what it was. Who is the statue of? I like sketches which suggest stories and a sense of plac...

Re: Sugarhouse area of Salt Lake City Utah

Hi Rhonda,
Hope you will post your sketches. Your fellow sketchcrawlers in faraway places want to see them. Even though you sketched by yourself, we all sketched with you.

Atlanta, GA USA [RESULTS]

Three of us met at Fernbank Science Center to sketch. It was a delightfully lively place, full of families with young children. "Grandpa and Grandma! Look at the Bambi!" http://atlantasacredharp.org/temp/sketch/20120714/EgretInPollution.jpg Anita found the beauty in a display about the eff...

Re: Atlanta, GA USA

For anyone unfamiliar with Fernbank: the address of Fernbank Science Center is 156 Heaton Park Drive, Atlanta, GA 30307. There is no charge to enter; if you are expected to buy a $17.50 ticket you are in the wrong place, the nearby Fernbank Museum of Natural History. The science center's website is ...

Re: Atlanta, GA USA

Hi Lori Ann, I don't have suggestions for places, but I'm planning to come. I am also thinking about doing some post-crawl sketching one week later at the Battle of Atlanta living history presentations. I like the idea of trying to capture something that is particular to this place. http://www.batle...

Those are beautiful! I particularly feel inspired by the Classroom #3 page. Hope you can talk some of these friends into sketchcrawling with you next time.

Hi Sketchgurl,

I love how you capture a sense of place. Hope you find more people to crawl with soon, but even if you don't, we are with you in spirit from around the world.
