Re: Bryan/College Station [Results]

After we finally found Rudy's, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the air conditioning. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2488/3719009890_cb458012ab.jpg?v=0 A couple eating barbeque on what was a screened porch. Now it is enclosed with lots of windows, and has wooden picnic tables. http://farm4.static.flick...

Re: Bryan/College Station [Results]

These are more of our sketches. It seemed to act like I was adding too much, or something, so I thought I should add other drawings separately. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3431/3718113379_e1d2a91046.jpg?v=0 Barbara sketched the Masonic Lodge across the street, through the window. There is a barbe...

Bryan/College Station [Results]

We hoped to have a group, this time, but it didn't work out. So my sister and I met in downtown Bryan at the LaSalle Hotel coffee shop. It's beastly hot outside in Texas this summer, so we chose to work indoors. The big windows of the coffee shop allowed us to see some of the street scene and courty...

Re: Aubrey, TX Sketch Crawl Results

Enjoyed seeing your sketches! I think my favorite is the feet on green. That just struck me, for some reason. Glad to see that you had a nice group. And I am impressed that the gallery put your work on their website. Very nice. We found a coffee shop with a big window, and a barbeque place that has ...

Re: Tyler, Texas [RESULTS]

Enjoyed seeing your sketches. You're off to a good start in Tyler with 6!
We decided to work indoors, here in Bryan/College Station, because of the heat. Just found a couple of restaurants, and a big window to look through!

Re: Bryan/College Station/Brazos Valley of Texas

Anyone have any good ideas for a cool place to work in Bryan? Here's the plan, so far. If anyone has any better ideas, I'm open to suggestions. In Bryan, meet, starting about 8:30 a.m., at the LaSalle Hotel. Maybe in the coffee shop or the court yard. From there, we can decide where we want to go-if...

Re: Bryan/College Station/Brazos Valley of Texas

Anyone have any good ideas for a cool place we can meet in Bryan and Calvert? I know that Mud Creek Pottery in Calvert would be a good place. You can always work by looking out the big windows. In Bryan, I was thinking of the George Bush Library, the lake at Lake Bryan (the Ice House there sounds co...

Bryan/College Station/Brazos Valley of Texas

Hope that we can get groups together in this area for July 11th. It's going to be hot, but we can find a cool spot, I'm sure. Here's the plan, for now. I hope that other communities will join us, or work where they are. In Bryan, meet at the LaSalle Hotel. Register at the Frame Gallery, 216 N. Bryan...

Re: Austin Texas?

I'm in Bryan, not sor far away from you. But I just wanted to let you know that I think that Austin does a Sketch Crawl. Check out Robin Cheers or the Austin Plein Aire Painters group. I have contact information for them, if you would like it. Robin did the last Sketch Crawl there, I know. She has a...

Re: Bryan/College Station, Texas [Results]

Thank you, Carol and Joan. I did record the day! I just wish that others would have come out too. But, it was a busy time with art shows and people getting ready for Easter. Maybe next time.
There was a man who sketched in Calvert. He is going to post his work.
Looking forward to the next one!

Enjoyed seeing your photos and your work. Those gates and all the rocks are really interesting. You got a lot of sketching done, despite a shortened day.
