Davis, California

I'll be unable to join the Sacramento crawl this weekend. But I'm happy to sketch my way around Davis if anyone would like to join me. I'll start out at 11:00 am at the Farmers' Market (at the tables near the ATM); grab some lunch somewhere; and end up at the Code Pink anti-war demonstration at the ...

Old Sac?

Henry: great! Depending on how many people you're expecting will show up -- four? Ten? Two hundred, like the Enrico-fests? -- meeting at an easy landmark, with protection from the weather, is usually a good idea. I don't know Old Sac very well, but you could just pick a cafe or something and have us...

Looks like we'll be around! I ran into Emma (well, actually, I was sitting down and drawing quince blossom, she ran into me) on Sunday and she mentioned there'd be a Sac Crawl. Keep us posted, Henry, about what you'd like to do. Old Sac would be great. The Sac Zoo is also a good place to sketch, may...

Wow.

Thanks for sharing these, ZUPZUP.

Pastels always seem so fragile to me but you've given me inspiration to take them out into the field! I may try to do some this weekend.

Great sketches, everyone. What a fantastic day. I was having a great time trying out the Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils.

I was in Sausalito for a mountain lion event in May and it's much bigger than you'd think. It seems to have three distinct parts. I don't know exactly where the ferry comes in.

Someone who knows it a little better, do you have an alternate meeting spot to suggest?

Allan and I will need two ferry tickets, too. We'll be coming from Davis and will take BART from the East Bay. Emma, would you like a ride down from Davis?

Cemetery!

Great idea, the cemetery, Emma, there's a great one about 5 miles south of Davis, maybe we should meet there next time!

Where Davis is

Between Berkeley and Sacramento, very close to Sac actually, it's a college town. ("Town" is no longer really accurate -- it's a small city of 65,000.)
