Re: 2015 sketchcrawl?
Carl, welcome! I see that people have used the "45th World Wide Sketch Crawl" thread from last October to announce January 2015 crawls in Lyon, Rotterdam, Basque country, and Atlanta. I suggest you announce your location there, then move the discussion to the "46th" thread if the...

Re: New York City [RESULTS]
Hi Joan, Looks like you had a great crawl - well attended and a great place for sketching. I have read about the High Line but never seen it except in pictures. Great pictures. (How cool to capture a helicopter as it was landing!) I'll be checking back hoping the rest of the group posts theirs also....

And here is Richmond's magnolia https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5607/15390274627_d5a61c44f1.jpg Teri, great idea to keep a running list of bad-weather sketchcrawl places here. I've sketched at the L. P. Grant mansion and was so taken with the massive root of a tree growing over a brick retaining wall...

Atlanta, Georgia, USA [RESULTS]
Four of us met at Oakland Cemetery and enjoyed perfect sketching weather. On our way in, we passed a larger group, a creative writing group doing a "writecrawl." (Our term for it, not theirs.) I decided to tackle the Richards family tomb: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5612/15569145025_64b...

Re: Atlanta, Georgia
I just noticed a BIG problem with Decatur. The Decatur Craft Beer Festival begins at noon in the square, and during the morning vendors will be busy setting up. Might be OK if you like sketching crowds, but non-ticket-holders will be excluded from a large portion of the square, and the $40 (!) ticke...

Re: Atlanta, Georgia
It's a historic courthouse square where the buildings have been redeveloped into a thriving restaurant district. Here are links to some previous Decatur sketchcrawl results. http://www.sketchcrawl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=10431 Erling, who organized previous sketchcrawls and brought his co...

Re: Atlanta, Georgia
Glad to meet you, Whalen, and very happy to see your post. The square in Decatur is a fine place for sketching and the Brick Store Pub is a fine place for refreshment.
But would morning work OK for you? I have to leave for another commitment by 3 pm or earlier.

Re: Atlanta (Roswell) Georgia, USA [RESULTS]
I crawled by myself at a Civil War sesquicentennial event in Roswell, Georgia. It was the 150th anniversary of the Federal occupation of Roswell, so all the soldiers were from the Union side. No Confederate soldiers at this event. I limited myself to a sketch kit appropriate to the period. First I w...

Atlanta (Roswell) Georgia, USA [RESULTS]
I propose to go to Roswell on July 12 to sketch the deportation of the mill workers 150 years ago: http://www.roswellgov.com/index.aspx?NID=1760 https://www.facebook.com/federaloccupationroswell Reenactors enjoy being sketched. But Roswell also has historic buildings for those who prefer architectur...

Re: Atlanta, GA [Result]
I found the button in Flickr. 1. Go to your drawing''s individual page on Flickr. 2. Click on the "Share This Photo" icon. It's a rectangle with a diagonal arrow coming out of it. 3. This gives you a pop-up with icons for Facebook, Twitter, etc. Under the five icons are three words, "...
