Re: San Francisco, CA, USA

EAST BAY would be great! The downtown Berkeley BART station is 2 blocks from the beautiful UCB Campus, also a few blocks from a huge farmers market, parks, nearby seedy Telegraph Ave., about 8 blocks from North Berkeley's "Gourmet Ghetto" with many cafe's and interesting shops along the way.

Re: San Francisco [RESULTS]

Martha and I couldn't make it to the "real" SF Sketchcrawl so in the afternoon we sketched in Kensington, a little town between Berkeley, where she lives, and El Cerrito, where I live. This is my favorite neighborhood grocery store: http://janabouc.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/20090411-sketchrawl-22-...

Re: San Francisco - CA [Results]

Thanks so much for organizing another wonderful sketchcrawl! We met up at Peets and then sketched in and around the Ferry Building; never made it to the DeYoung. It was a gorgeous day and so much fun to sketch and meet some new sketchers. Here's the dude entertaining pigeons with his off-key clarine...

Re: San Francisco, CA - USA

There's also an event going on Sat. morning at the Ferry Building: the 15th anniversary show of West Coast Live is being broadcast from there from 9:30-noon on Saturday. That probably won't be too much of a big deal though.

Re: San Francisco, CA - USA

So as an East Bay person and not as familiar as I should be with getting around in SF, I'm wondering how most people will travel from the Ferry Building to the DeYoung. Google maps says it's a 5 mile, 1 1/2 hour walk each way....doable, but a lot of walking, especially if you have to get back to the...

Re: 24th St Crawl, Sf,CA,USA

24th Street sounds perfect and it's near BART which is great since I'm coming from the East Bay.

East Bay anyone?

Chinatown is great! There's also a Chinatown in downtown Oakland that is less crowded, though maybe a little seedier. It's near BART and not too far from Jack London Square and the bay, also seedier than SF, but interesting nonetheless.

I'm OK with the suggested schedule and with 4th Street. 4th Street always has lots of people and usually dogs and cats for adoption, interesting store window displays and some funky industrial areas nearby, Bette's Diner is very retro, and the old nautically-themed Spengers Restaurant is interesting...

Yikes! Lost track of time

I meant to join in on the group ticket purchase and the week got away from me and I've missed all the messages between page 3 and 8. I'm planning to attend with another east bay artist. Is there a serious risk of not being able to get ferry tickets now? Do you think my friend and I need to get there...

Sausalito--Perfect idea!

Sounds great to me. Lots of variety of things to draw! I'm in the East Bay so not sure about the ferry.
