hi from london :)

Hi, I’m Audrey and I’m new here. I’m nineteen and I’ve been drawing for, what… maybe six or seven years now? But I’ve never tried drawing or sketching in public, I guess I would be too embarrassed. I’m planning on attending the sketch crawl in January though, so I need to get started soon, so as to ...

Re: portraits

I suppose if you work on a drawing that you base on a photo, you can always take breaks and come back to it later ( that would be different if you were actually working on a portrait of a model) … and then, every artist has a different passion, if portrait drawing is your thing, then I guess it does...

Not only that but you meet likeminded people. Someone suggested it should be taking place in South Kensington this year, which I think is a r...

Re: Vienna, Austria

Having been to Vienna several times, the first, third, or fourth district would probably make good places to draw, don’t you think? The meeting point could be the Graben, and then you could take it from there and proceed through Vienna’s inner city. I wish I could be there, I just love Vienna’s arch...

Re: Inspiring Quotes: Drawing

“Matisse makes a drawing, then he makes a copy of it. He recopies it five times, ten times, always clarifying the line. He's convinced that the last, the most stripped down, is the best, the purest, the definitive one; and in fact, most of the time, it was the first. In drawing, nothing is better th...

Re: How we learn

Quite a nice theory, though it actually all depends on what kind of a person someone is, so if someone is rather a visual kind of person they’d learn quicker by seeing something, whereas if they are auditive, they will remember things by hearing them quicker. I guess teaching really makes you learn ...
