Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

I'm in the midst of my second migraine this week and so am thinking it might be wise for me to stick close to home this time around. Have a good time on your canal sketching adventure.

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

The Friendship Garden is a lot closer to north Phoenix than Chaparral Park which is in Scottsdale. Guess we should let Craig make the decision considering he has the least amount of time.

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

I forgot to emphasize the koi fish. They will blow your mind. There is plenty to sketch in that place. I need to gripe a little here...... I place images on various websites and never have a problem. I don't know what is so unique about this one that I have such a headache doing it. I would love to ...

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

Okay.....how about the Japanese Friendship Garden? Trees, water, shade, close to a really cute lunch place....can't remember name I think just a short drive north on the intersection of McDowell I think. Great brownies there, too. A small bag of cherri-o's are 50 cents at the garden. The koi love th...

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

Mystery Castle will radiate a lot of heat I suspect being that so much is desert, concrete and stone. Fascinating place but not so great for 90+ unless you like sweating a lot. Would opt for a place with access to drinks and shade. Mystery Castle is also a bit of a drive if you have to be somewhere ...

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

If we are going to do the Myster Castle this year, this would probably be the best time before the real heat arrives.

Re: desert reptiles

Could this great weather last till the SketchCrawl?? Should we wait until the week before to see? I really would like to see the desert reptiles and other critters, too.

Re: Phoenix, AZ USA

Hay Craig.... Maybe jumping the gun a little on this one? Next time around would offer a chance at warmer weather and lounging lizards where we can see them. You would be the best bet for some downright cute lounging lizards, too. But that's just my opinion............ We could put maybe about as mu...

Re: Phoenix/Cave Creek, AZ USA - [Results]

I didn't make it to the Cave Creek SketchCrawl because I decided to attend the Occupy Wall Street/Phoenix rally in front of Phoenix City Hall. Most of my "sketching" was done in Photoshop this time. Was was too hot, sweaty, and tired by the time I got back. So check it out on my blog.

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

Craig, If I make it to the demonstration I will sketch something. Not sure I can handle upper 90's out in the sun though. Where ever I am I'll draw something and you can send me the link to get it/them posted. Southern Washington was great. Mostly in the upper 60's to mid 70's....few 80+'s. Came bac...
