Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

I know they don't mind photography so I'm sure sketching will be no problem either. Considering how easy going the atmosphere is there I have a feeling that if you used a Niji water-contained brush (or other similar brand) and a few discreet watercolors, I bet you'd have no problem. They don't allow...

Re: Musican Instrum. Museum correction

Correction on directions: It's SOUTH of the 101 on Tatum Blvd., on the WEST side of the street. It is a large complex that stands alone. It's on the intersecton of Mayo and Tatum. Just a quick jog from the 101. Can't miss it.

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

The MIM is at least easy to get to on the 101. Exit at Tatum. Turn north and in a blink of an eye the MIM will be on the left side of the street. I think it costs $18 unless you qualify for some type of discount. Endless subject matter to sketch.

Re: Phoenix, AZ USA - [Results]

Finally decided to do the bull frog in the Desert Botanical Garden pond. He posed so nicely for passers by.

Re: Phoenix, AX - USA

One more vote for the trusty ol' Botanical Garden. Lots of places in the shade and cafe for ice cold cactus tea.
I'll be there at 9 a.m.

Re: Phoenix, AX - USA

Annie, I was just thinking of something regarding potential sudden plan changes. Don't your members have access to the internet and to the official SketchCrawl site? I know that you have an independent group not associated with this SketchCrawl activity, but as far as the SketchCrawl is concerned sh...

Re: Phoenix, AX - USA

Okay. I'm going to pass on this one. I'll contribute something from around my yard this time. At $15 I'd want to spend some time at the Japanese Gardens, but not in the heat and possible crowds. See you next time. If you love music, world music even better, you will love the MIM if we go there next ...

Re: Phoenix, AX - USA

I'm confused.....I noticed that there is that music and art festival happening on the 16th and that admission is $15 instead of $5. But the last line that mentions only open for guests I don't understand. I didn't read anything about the general public being excluded on their website. Perhaps what s...

Re: Todi, Italy [Results]

I was in Todi last summer. All yourwork is so nicely done!! I wish I could have had more time in Todi to sketch, too. I was too busy in the few hours we had just exploring the town. I have Todi's own postage stamp in my journal. You can see some of my journal pages from that trip if you click on &qu...

Re: Phoenix AZ - USA - [Results]

What a fantastic day. I bit off more than I could chew with this drawing/painting. Need to downsize the amount of subject matter. Not fast enough to do something like this in the time I had to finish it. So I'm late as usual. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5084/5381819354_fd29ce93e7.jpg You can find...

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

Annie, I don't know that the coffee shop has a name. Directly across from the entrance to the Wandering Horse Buffet restaurant is a walkway with lots of large windows. If you walk along that walkway keeping the windows to your left you will notice a balcony running along your right side. Look down ...

Re: Phoenix, AZ - USA

Craig,

I'm in for 9 a.m. On Saturday, I expect the earlier one gets there the better considering how full the parking lot is going to get.
