Re: Seattle, Washington USA results

Hi everybody. Sorry it's taken so long to post my sketches. Anita and I had a great time with you all at the zoo. What wonderful drawing weather too! We're looking forward to the next one. I finally got to draw an elephant or two. The amazing thing is the way they just let the elephants wander aroun...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA

I vote for the zoo. I want to draw an elephant and the last time I was at fisherman's terminal there wasn't a pachyderm to be seen anywhere. I suppose they could have been hiding, or out fishing that day, but I still think the zoo would be my best bet.

Re: Seattle, Washington, USA results

Here are my sketches. All were done with Micron pens and watercolors in a small Moleskine wc book: I'm glad I brought a little sketching chair to sit on, because those stone benches in the park were cold! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3414/3439067298_511b93f910.jpg?v=0 The gate had much more comple...

Hi everybody,
Are some of you going to be there all day? I ask because I may not be able to make it until the afternoon...

Re: Seattle

You guys decide. I'm still smarting about last time... Just make sure there's no parade going on wherever we end up!

Re: Seattle - Washington - USA

10 am at Mr. Lenin's Proletariat Paradise Burrito and Gelato Food Court sounds good to me. I'll watch for you but I am going to try and grab some curb near there so if you don't see me look around I'll probably be nearby, trying to preserve my spot. I hope somebody does a Sun Dance or something beca...

Re: Seattle - Washington - USA

If you get there an hour or two before the parade starts you can get a decent spot, and even have room for a folding chair. At least that's been possible in the past. I usually set up shop right in front of Ibeefus's "Lenin del Mar."

Re: Seattle - Washington - USA

Well if it is on 6/21, then there is only one place to go, and that is Fremont. It's the day of the Solstice Parade!

Here's my report from the day in Seattle. I went to a figure drawing session in the morning before meeting the group at the sculpture park: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3258/2380640540_27dba545ca.jpg The group met at noon. Here we are, huddled in the nice (warm!) visitor's center: http://farm3.sta...

Thanks Ibeefus. I'll be at Art/Not 9:30, and will see the rest of the gang at the park at noon. FYI, I learned last week that they just put meters in all around the gallery so no more free pkg. Art is getting expensive...

I agree with Littlefish: if the weather's nice I'd be up for meeting at the sculpture garden. Since it is free I can leave early without feeling TOO bad (not so with the aquarium.) On the other hand, if the weather is wet I will just go to the figure drawing session at Art/Not and if any of you guys...

I'm in for the aquarium. I haven't been since they remodeled, but I'm sure there will be places to sit. I'll bet we can even use watercolors, it being an aquarium and all...

Hey guys thanks for all the kind words. Ibeefus that big "ball of yarn" thing was tempting me too but I chickened out. You did it more justice than I could anyway. Great gesture sketches, and in pen no less. Littlefish that Cupid drawing rules! Love the earthtone and the depiction of form....

Here are my results, good bad or indifferent, after much fiddling with cameras, scanners, and the internet, all from my small Moleskine WC sketchbook: The gang, ready to take on the SAM, armed with sketchbooks, pencils, and soon-to-be-banned pens and inks http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2121/22131190...

Nice work Ibeefus! I wish I could work a brushpen...

I'm working the scan/photo/uploading issues. Adding some color here and there too. Maybe tomorrow!

Are those bugs?
