They're doing some renovation to the MUNI stop. This must be some kind of track clearing tractor. I have...

I've sketched all over this city, but never in Bernal Heights before. Great weather for it and a good turnout of sketchers (the rest of you please post!). I started drawing the bike here. These guys came along and watched the dogs for a moment while their women were in shopping, in the meantime a tr...

https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3947/15390680857_eaf2643a8f_c.jpg Great day and good weather as the San Francisco Indian Summer heat continues. We met on the Embarcadero at the Ferry Building. I've drawn the building itself so many times, I walked down a bit to see this fairly new sculpture, SOMA by...

A good day out and great weather. I love this campus, my alma mater, and I don't get out to sketch there often enough. Good times with Jana and crew and fellow urban sketcher Pete Scully. Here are my sketches - The West end of Doe Library, and the bust of Lincoln on the side of the campanile, sculpt...

Re: San Francisco "City" - California
Where would you like? There seems to be a small eastbay movement to go to the UCBerkeley campus, but there could be an SF crawl too. Some of my location drawing class might like to participate, but I'm using all of my best location ideas on them already (including UCB) so I'm open to suggestions.

We had a pretty good turnout and beautiful unseasonably warm weather. The Haight and Ashbury neighborhood this time. I saw such brilliant work from my fellow sketchers at the end of the day, truly inspiring. Here are my sketches, starting with the usual warmups of fellow sketchers at the morning caf...

Re: Mendocino CA USA (Results)
Thanks everyone! Capetown, the story is that Lupe's grandmother would put mushrooms in a pot of water and drop in a quarter. If the quarter turned black, the mushroom was poisonous. This bit of "folk wisdom" only works (to the extent that it works at all) with silver coins, as the black ta...

Beautiful work Jackson and Pete and everyone! Looks like you had a good day. Sorry I couldn't meet with you guys this time. I went to Mendocino instead where I sketched all day, documenting the firing of an old-style wood-fire pottery kiln. Check out my report in the Mendocino CA USA [Results] topic...

I usually post with the San Francisco group, but this time insdead I went to Mendocino for what may be the last firing of the anagama, or wood-fire kiln, at its current location at Flynn Creek Pottery. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8119/8659719850_2298bae89b_c.jpg This ancient type of kiln design wa...

Cahusslein, it kind of looks like you captured the same sailboat that I did in the same fleeting second, past the end of the pier.
