Brewster, NY, USA [Results] Sketchcrawl 57

It was another solo sketchcrawl for me, and I lacked an inspirational focus. During the day I visited a favored hickory tree to harvest some fallen nuts. When I returned home, I cracked open a bunch before dinner, looked at the tableau in front of me, and there was my subject staring me in the face....

About 10 sketchers descended on Manhattan. I brought only black & white media, which steered me to people rather than scenery; resistance is futile! I caught up in time for lunch at the Boathouse in Central Park. And of course what do sketchers sketch? Each other! Sketchers at Lunch http://parke...

Today I only had time to visit the Putnam County (NY) Fair to catch a performance by the eminently hip David Amram. For my day’s crawl I first walked to the northern reaches of Tibbetts Brook in Van Cortlandt Park. Fifty years ago this used to be a broad lake surrounded by open field, a cherished fishing and mischief locale of my youth. Now the eutrophied lake is filled in, its footprint and shore areas impenetra...
