Re: Seattle, Washington USA...Mike's early sketch

What a great sketch, thanks so much for sharing it. Who would've thought this was a Seattle area scene? Looks like a castle from Spain or something of similar heritage. Interesting how a scene is so colored by the artist's own interpretation. Sorry I can't make the sketchcrawl, life has been a bit d...

They are pretty close to the bus stop at 13th Ave S. and S. Bailey, this is where the bus from the downtown bus tunnel, #106 Renton, stops.

Re: Seattle, Washington USA...light rail service

The light rail service that runs through the bus tunnel downtown and goes out to Sea-Tac is called Central Link Light Rail.......there are a couple stops south of Seattle but I'd have to see if it made sense to take a bus to the bus tunnel, then take light rail, then possibly another bus to get to G...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA

I misread the transit information, it would be a bus that you catch, not light rail. I didn't find a light rail stop in Georgetown even though I know there is one in Columbia City. Maybe I just need to look into it more. Don't forget that the Sounder has many different routes, just like buses do, so...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA...where to meet

I just looked at the Metro trip planner to see what the possibilities are for getting to Georgetown. Looks like the best one is to take the 41 from the Northgate Transit Center to the Westlake station and then hop on the light rail/Sounder and get off at the Georgetown stop (at 13th Ave S and S Bail...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA...Georgetown

Sounds like a good choice, I haven't been there in a while. Are the boots and hat all renewed and spiffed up now? Here's a link I discovered, not sure how much info is on it: http://thepapernoose.blogspot.com/ More: http://www.georgetownhistory.com/historyblog.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georg...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA....another suggestion

I'd like to offer another suggestion, rich in local history and full of diverse cultures-----your local cemetery! I live near the Evergreen-Washelli cemetery near Aurora and 115th, and it is a great place to walk; lots of trees, birds, some fountains, a huge variety of cultures represented---each wi...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA....parking issues

Well, I gotta say----parking in Seattle on a weekend in the springtime??!! Definitely doesn't matter where you go, this will be a bit of a struggle. Public transportation will work for some people, maybe some can collaborate and carpool, or ride a bike. In general, finding a good parking spot in mos...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA Saturday May 15

Here's an idea.....the University Street Fair is that weekend.....there will be many sights to sketch there and the UW grounds are nearby if anyone wants to escape to a quieter more tree and nature type spot. At 10 a.m. the street fair will likely be "reasonable" but by noon crowded and de...

Re: Seattle, Washington USA Saturday May 15

Since this event will be a Saturday in May I personally would like to avoid super busy tourist type places, they will be packed with people and spots to do sketching are likely to be pretty limited. Outdoors, in nature would be great, but also might be quite busy. Quiet places might be university gr...
